About the event
The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) Global Women’s Breakfast (GWB) is an annual worldwide event comprised of local meetings which contribute to a global conversation on gender equity in science. At UCalgary the local GWB meeting is co-organized by UCalgary CIDE (Chemists for Inclusivity, Diversity and Equity) and Professor Belinda Heyne, the Department Head of Chemistry. The primary goal of the GWB series is to build a diverse community of individuals of all gender identities to address the ever-present barriers facing gender equity in science. This will be the sixth iteration of this global event, which will be held at the Last Defence Lounge on main campus on February 27, 2024 from 8:30 to 10:30 A.M. The theme of this year’s breakfast is “Catalyzing Diversity in Science”. This year we will be incorporating a workshop from Gayathri Shukla, founder of Campfire Kinship, into the meeting. The title…
